Alex Yee and Great Britain claim Rome World Cup victories

Alex Yee won the men’s race and Great Britain took mixed relay gold at the Rome World Cup, while Diana Isakova claimed the women’s title.

According to World Triathlon’s weekend review, Yee produced a 13:52 run over 5km after the men’s field came together on the bike. France’s Martin Hubner finished second, with 2025 junior world champion Tristan Douche taking bronze.

In the women’s race, Isakova held off Sweden’s Tilda Mansson in the closing stages. American Taylor Spivey completed the podium in third place.

Great Britain’s mixed relay team of Yee, Kate Waugh, Olivia Mathias and Connor Bentley secured gold, finishing nearly a minute ahead of Italy and Portugal.

The Rome races came shortly after the Pontevedra Finals, bringing athletes back to World Cup competition as the international season continued.

World Triathlon’s update also highlighted the busy programme ahead, including World Cup and Para Cup racing, the African Continental Championships in Hurghada, the Multisport World Championships in Abu Dhabi and the Youth Olympic Games in Dakar.

Rome is among the venues World Triathlon identifies for T50 racing in the inaugural Triathlon World Tour next year. The weekend offered another opportunity for athletes to compete at the venue ahead of that new chapter.
