Keeping your triathlon bike clean is more than a matter of appearance. Road grit, sweat and dirt can accumulate on the frame, drivetrain and brakes after training, making routine inspections and maintenance more difficult. A portable water supply can be particularly useful when you return from a wet ride or travel to a race without access to an outdoor tap.
Muc-Off’s free 20L water tank offer
Muc-Off is offering a free additional 20L Water Tank when customers purchase a qualifying Mobile Pressure Washer Bundle at full price. The promotion began at 12:00 GMT on 12 October 2026 and is available while stocks last. According to the brand’s UK terms, the tank is worth £40, and the free item is applied automatically at checkout without a code. It is not a standalone free giveaway.
The additional tank has a built-in tap and watertight lid, providing extra water when cleaning a bike away from a fixed supply. Muc-Off says the container is built to handle knocks during transport. The washer itself has an integrated 20L reservoir; the promotional tank is an additional accessory.
Why triathletes should clean their bikes regularly
Triathlon training can expose bikes to road spray, salt, mud and accumulated debris. Cleaning after dirty rides helps you check tyres, frame surfaces, drivetrain wear and brake components. This is particularly important for athletes who transport their bikes frequently and want to avoid storing damp, dirty equipment inside a vehicle or home.
A mobile washer and extra tank can simplify cleaning at a training camp, race venue or car park. A bucket and soft brush remain perfectly workable alternatives; the benefit of a portable tank is convenience rather than a claim of increased race speed.
Five steps for safe triathlon bike cleaning
- Use a gentle initial rinse to loosen mud and road grit.
- Apply a bike-specific cleaner following its instructions and use soft brushes or cloths on delicate finishes.
- Clean the chain, cassette and derailleurs carefully, keeping degreaser and lubricant away from disc brake rotors and pads.
- Avoid directing a concentrated pressure jet at bearings, seals, electronic shifting connections or other sensitive areas.
- Rinse, dry, inspect and re-lubricate the drivetrain as appropriate before your next ride.
What to check before buying
The free tank is conditional on purchasing a qualifying Mobile Pressure Washer Bundle at full price on Muc-Off’s website. Muc-Off’s published terms specify one free tank per qualifying kit, with customer and geographic restrictions, and say the promotion cannot be combined with other offers or applied retrospectively. Check the current checkout and promotion terms before purchasing.
For triathletes who regularly clean bikes away from home, an extra 20 litres of water can make post-ride care easier and more consistent.
