Feast your eyes on the Swatch Nines MTB 2024 set up

Months of dreaming and sketching, followed by weeks of digging and sculpting, have led to this moment: the official reveal of the 2024 Swatch Nines MTB setup! Here’s all you need to know about the course and the week to come at Bike Republic Sölden.

Take a moment to appreciate the 2024 Swatch Nines MTB course in all its glory before all the action kicks off:

The course: freeride meets slopestyle

On the slopes above the Austrian resort town of Sölden at an elevation of 1550 meters above sea level, two intertwining mountain bike lines weave their way down an alpine meadow.

“The course at this year’s Swatch Nines looks amazing, and with a brand new backdrop of Sölden, the week is set to be epic!” says Sam Pilgrim (GBR). “It’s an unreal feeling seeing it come to life after being out here in January to help design the course. It’s gone from a normal hillside to a freeride MTB paradise. Let’s send it!”

Designed for speed, flow and massive airs, the freeride line kicks off with a 5-meter drop into a 20-meter dirt-to-dirt double. After a righthand berm and a lefthand hip, the line concludes with a 13-meter step-down into a trick-friendly step-up jump.

Running parallel to and sometimes crossing the freeride line, the more playful slopestyle line boasts a total of nine features. From a wing element to a quarterpipe redirect to a unique double drop, this line invites creative approaches. Two wood kickers and a huge step-up at the bottom set the stage for progressive tricks.

“The course this year is mega cool,” says Patricia Druwen (GER). “The lines have cool and different features, the jumps ride really well, and the slope line is the perfect size to learn lots of new tricks.”

The public day: Everyone’s invited!

Social media is sure to be flooded with Swatch Nines content in the coming days, but nothing compares to watching the action in person. After four days of media shoots, the public is invited to view a riding exhibition from 13:00–16:00 on Saturday, the 14th of September.

The public day is for spectating only. Ambitious bikers will get their chance to ride an adapted version of the course next year when it’s opened to the public as a permanent part of the Bike Republic Sölden bikepark. Tickets for the Public Day are available here.

Bike Republic Sölden Festival BYND The Mountain

The BYND Festival has accompanied Swatch Nines to the Alps! From the 13th to the 15th of September, the festival offers participants a front-row seat to world-class MTB action as well as a full program of musical acts, parties, gear tests, side events and much more.
