Sportive Breaks launch new Gravel Cycling Portfolio

Sportive Breaks have announced their gravel cycling portfolio; and that they will be an official tour operator for The Gralloch, part of the UCI Gravel World Series and the UK qualifier for the UCI Gravel World Championships 2023.

Sports travel experts Sportive Breaks offer bespoke premium travel packages for cyclists looking to take part in Europe’s most prestigious cycling events, cycling breaks and weekenders. Whether you are looking for your next big endurance challenge or simply some time away cycling with like-minded people, Sportive Breaks promote a host of packages for all types of rider.

And the team are excited to announce the launch of their brand new gravel programme for 2023, with the first two events in this programme being The Gralloch in Scotland (May 20th 2023) and the UCI Gravel World Championships in Veneto, Italy (7th and 8th October 2023). Held in south west Scotland, The Gralloch will be the UK’s only UCI Gravel World Series qualifying event, allowing gravel riders to qualify by finishing in the top 25% of their age group, offering access to the prestigious 2023 UCI Gravel World Championships later in the year in Italy.

Whether riders are looking to qualify or simply want a great day in the saddle, the newly released The Gralloch event is set to be a challenging, yet stunning race. The 110km, firm gravel route consists of nearly 2000m of climbing, and takes riders through the hilly terrain of Galloway and Southern Ayrshire UNESCO Biosphere. Riders are rewarded with some of the UK’s most breathtaking panoramic views, and should they qualify, have the opportunity to race against some of the biggest names in the gravel scene at the 2023 UCI Gravel World Championships in Veneto, Italy. 2022 saw the likes of Pauline Ferrand, Mathieu van der Poel and MTB marathon World Champion Alban Lakata take on the challenge.

As the official partner to The Gralloch the team at Sportive Breaks provide a hassle free, unforgettable travel package to both The Gralloch and the World Championships. All accompanying travel logistics are managed by their team of experts, who themselves have years of experience ‘on the ground’ both as guests and organisers. This makes it possible for guests to focus on enjoying the event at hand amongst a group of other cycling enthusiasts.

Maximilian Wussler, RED:ON & The Gralloch co-founder, said: “We’re extremely excited to have Sportive Breaks onboard as an official travel partner. We are confident that our event will guarantee an exciting and challenging day in the saddle and know that Sportive Breaks will be the ‘cherry on the top’ for our participants’ experience.”

Alex De Waard, Director at Sportive Breaks, said: “I am so thrilled that we have become an official travel partner for the UK based qualifying race for the UCI Gravel World Championships. People can qualify at The Gralloch and then also travel with us to the prestigious 2023 UCI Gravel World Championships. The gravel market is seeing huge growth, and it’s really exciting to see some brand new events being added to the 2023 racing calendar. We understand the logistics and planning that go into these events and we want to make it as hassle free as possible for our customers, so all they need to focus on is the execution of their race.”
