BMX legend Kriss Kyle soars into Endura creative masterclass
One of BMX’s biggest stars, Kriss Kyle, dived in to help out at a design masterclass by Endura and National Saturday Club by treating students to a display of his world-class BMX skills.
The cycle-inspired masterclass, which took place at Northumbria University School of Design in Newcastle, tasked 16 young people with designing a custom mountain bike jersey.
To bring the world of cycling to life for the designers, Endura athlete and BMX star Kriss Kyle executed an extraordinary BMX display, before sharing stories about his life as a professional athlete and his love for custom jersey designs.
The masterclass – co-hosted by Pentland Brands creative talent and network director, Katie Greenyer and Endura brand director, Noah Bernard – gave the young designers free rein to design a custom jersey that represented the Endura motto: “The only limit is your imagination.”
Eight of the sixteen designs will be selected and produced at Endura’s state-of the art in-house production facilities in Livingston, Scotland. They will then be exhibited at The National Saturday Club Summer Show at London’s iconic Somerset House this June.
Commenting on the day, Kriss said: “I’m stoked to be involved in such a fun and creative initiative with the next generation of designers and brand builders. I couldn’t have been prouder to share how passions and interests can develop into fulfilling and rewarding careers and how, with a bit of effort, a dream can become a reality.”
The masterclass programme, run by the National Saturday Club and backed by Pentland Brand’s in-house designers, regularly facilitates free Saturday morning classes for young people to experience what it’s like to work in a creative career.
