Supertri launches $90,000 team programme for 2027

Supertri has launched its 2027 Team Programme, offering $90,000 in prizes across the season for clubs, charities, schools and companies that race together.

The programme is designed to reward participation and community impact as well as speed. At every Supertri race in 2027, teams will compete across three categories:

  • Largest: the team with the most athletes.
  • Fastest: the quickest team, scored separately for Olympic and Sprint distances where both are offered, with results equalised for gender and age through Supertri’s partnership with TriDot.
  • Loudest: the team that generates the most noise on social media.

Each category will award $1,000 for first place, $750 for second and $500 for third. Events featuring both Olympic and Sprint distances will have four categories and 12 podium places, while Sprint-only events will have three categories and nine podium places.

Michael D’hulst, Supertri co-founder and CEO, said: “Clubs are where most people find triathlon. They get athletes to their first start line, train alongside them all year and are the loudest voices at the finish, and this is our way of giving back to them. You don’t need the fastest athletes to win. Bring the biggest team or the loudest one, and there’s a podium waiting for you.”

Any group that applies and completes onboarding can become a Supertri team, with a minimum of 10 athletes. Teams will also earn milestone rewards as registrations increase, ranging from dedicated venue space to tents, tables and chairs for larger groups.

Teams that reach their milestone 45 days before race day will qualify for on-site rewards. Each team will also receive access to a hub where leaders can monitor athletes, registrations and rewards. Further information is available from Supertri.
