Supertri Toulouse Generates Over €5 Million in Economic Impact as Mass Participation Debut Sells Out

The 2025 edition of Supertri Toulouse delivered record-breaking results both on and off the course, with the introduction of the Toulouse Triathlon — a sold-out new mass participation race held alongside the professional Supertri League event — proving an instant hit.

The first-ever Toulouse Triathlon sold all 1,300 race entries, marking a milestone moment for the city’s growing triathlon community. The event attracted a diverse field, with 28% of participants taking on their first-ever triathlon, and an impressive 95% indicating they may return next year.

In total, 16,250 people attended across the race weekend, generating €5.3 million in total economic impact for the region. Almost half of all participants (47%) travelled from outside the host economy, bringing valuable tourism revenue to local hotels, restaurants, and businesses.

Supertri’s commitment to making a positive social impact was also evident throughout the event, with €10,000 raised for the Institut Universitaire du Cancer de Toulouse-Oncopole through sales of the official Race Finisher T-shirt.

Michael D’Hulst, CEO and Co-Founder of Supertri, said: “Bringing the Toulouse Triathlon to life alongside our professional event has been a huge success. The enthusiasm from both local participants and those travelling from across France and beyond shows the strength of the triathlon community here. Toulouse has truly embraced the Supertri spirit — delivering sporting excellence, community impact, and significant economic value.”

The Supertri League professional race once again showcased Toulouse to a global audience, reaching more than 4 million broadcast viewers worldwide.

After disqualification and puncture woes in Toulouse in 2023 and 2024, Jeanne Lehair of Podium Racing found redemption in her hometown to secure her first Supertri League Championship, and even had a marriage proposal from her boyfriend on the top step of the medal podium. In the men’s event, Csongor Lehmann of Stars & Stripes won the overall Supertri League title after recording back-to-back victories in the series.
