Bikebook, the online platform connecting cyclists with local mechanics, have announced a strategic partnership with Bikmo, a leading consumer and commercial insurance provider in the cycling sector.
Through this collaboration, both companies aim to elevate the cycling experience by offering unparalleled service and protection to their combined customer base offering seamless integration of competitive insurance within the Bikebook innovative Workshop management system.
Ben Thompson, Chief Growth Officer at Bikmo, said: “This partnership will empower both new and existing customers of Workshop by Bikebook to access world-class insurance coverage provided by Bikmo. With Bikmo’s commitment to safeguarding riders, their bikes, and the environment, coupled with Workshop’s user-friendly platform for bike servicing, repairing, and maintenance, cyclists can now enjoy a seamless and enhanced journey on two wheels.
“Bikmo’s mission is to protect all riders, their rides, and the world in which we ride and this partnership helps us take one more step towards achieving this.”
Since its inception in 2021, Bikebook has been at the forefront of facilitating thousands of booking enquiries and establishing a network of over 1100 registered local mechanics across the UK. With the support of Angel Investor funding, secured in 2023, Bikebook has now launched Workshop, a comprehensive platform designed to streamline workshop management processes for bike mechanics. It is noteworthy that Workshop is endorsed by two times Olympic gold medallist Alistair Brownlee.
Workshop is tailored exclusively for bike mechanics, is user friendly and has been designed to cater for those who lack the resources and time for complicated software and extensive training. Many professional mechanics still rely on increasingly outdated administrative tools, such as Excel spreadsheets, paper diaries, or use online platforms such as Facebook to create a basic web page. Workshop can instantly increase the efficiency of a bike repair business, by offering an end-to-end solution for business management. It eliminates paper booking systems and out of date processes for invoicing and payments, whilst keeping tabs on inventory and stock taking.
In a strategic move to enhance Workshop’s offerings, Bikebook has now partnered with Bikmo to utilise their industry leading expertise in consumer and commercial cycle insurance. Through this collaboration, bike repair businesses can seamlessly integrate competitive insurance offerings into the Workshop system, providing customers with added value and peace of mind.
“We are thrilled to announce our partnership with Bikmo, a pioneer in cycling insurance,” said Jake Fieldsend, Co-founder of Bikebook. “Together, we are looking to improve insurance services for bike repair businesses and cyclists, offering a comprehensive solution that combines Workshop’s innovative management tools with Bikmo’s tailored insurance coverage.”
This partnership not only benefits bike repair businesses by providing a new revenue stream through affiliate channels but also enhances the overall customer experience by offering competitive insurance directly through Workshop platform.
