Former world-record holder Alex Dowsett revamps his coaching programme for cyclists

Former British Pro and Hour Record holder, Alex Dowsett, has revamped a new coaching business, Thighs Club, aimed at cyclists of all levels.

Thighs Club is designed to take all of Dowsett’s training and experience from some of the most competitive environments and offer riders personalised coaching plans that will help them reach their goals and improve their performance.

Essex-born Dowsett has won multiple national and international titles throughout his career. He is a former Commonwealth Games gold and silver medallist as well as holding the prestigious Hour Record. After his international success and retirement from the pro cycling scene, Alex – alongside his wife, Chanel, and business partner, James Milard – have decided to put their knowledge at the disposal of cyclists across the country, no matter their ability.

With a range of coaching programmes, riders will have access to the tailored training plans and expertise. Thighs Club is based on years of experience and knowledge gained from working with some of the best coaches and trainers in the world, ciphering out what worked and what did not, in some of the most competitive environments.

The revamp of Alex Dowsett’s cycling programme coincides with the recent release of his latest book, ‘Bloody Minded: My Life in Cycling’. It offers a gripping and revealing account of Alex Dowsett’s remarkable journey through the world of professional cycling, showcasing his fearless pursuit of success despite the challenges posed by haemophilia A, and providing an insider’s view of the golden age of British cycling.

Dowsett said: “Since retiring I’ve been looking for what’s next, but I always knew it would be around making other people better cyclists. So I couldn’t think of anything more rewarding than supporting both new and experienced riders to achieve their goals and help them fall in love with the sport and progression. I believe that cycling is for everyone, and I want to help as many people as possible experience the joy that comes from riding a bike – whether you’re looking to compete at the highest level or just want to improve your fitness and wellbeing!”

The coaching programmes offers riders a range of different plans to choose from, depending on their goals and budget. It is also chiefly designed to be accessible to riders of all levels, from beginners to seasoned professionals.

Dowsett is excited about the future of his coaching programme and is already planning new features and updates. He said: “I’m constantly learning and improving as a cyclist, and I want to bring that same spirit of innovation to my coaching team. I have some exciting plans in the works, and I can’t wait to share them with riders around the world.”
