Gregory Barnaby chooses Rudy Project

The Italian triathlete will compete with the Italian brand’s helmets and sunglasses

Rudy Project has announced its prestigious collaboration with Italian triathlete Gregory Barnaby, who will wear the brand’s helmets and eyewear for the next two years.

This partnership combines athletic and technical excellence. Its goal is to enhance the talent of an extraordinary athlete through innovative products designed to meet the most demanding challenges in triathlon.

Gregory Barnaby is a highly talented triathlete, known for his outstanding results in the Ironman circuit. In 2024, he reached the peak of his career by winning the first edition of the Ironman Pro Series, crowning an exceptional season.

Among his most significant achievements are a third-place finish at the Ironman European Championship in Frankfurt and a sixth-place finish at the Ironman World Championship in Kona, where he set the best-ever Italian performance. Additionally, he claimed victory at the Ironman 70.3 Western Australia.

Barnaby is also known for his meticulous attention to detail and careful selection of technical gear, which are essential for optimizing his performance and tackling the toughest athletic challenges.

The feedback and demands of such a discerning athlete will serve as an additional motivation for Rudy Project in developing even more performance-driven products.

This year, Gregory Barnaby will rely on Rudy Project’s top-tier products to tackle the competition season. During races, he will wear the Wingdream helmet, renowned for its advanced aerodynamics that enhance performance in the cycling segment, along with the Astral Sphere and Turbolence glasses, designed to provide comfort and optimal visibility during the run. For training, Gregory has chosen the Nytron helmet – aerodynamic yet highly ventilated – paired with Kelion glasses, offering protection and practicality during the most intense cycling sessions.

Wingdream stands out for its aerodynamics, safety features, and ventilation capabilities. It is successfully used across a variety of disciplines, from triathlon and road cycling to speed skating, as it is designed to minimize air resistance and maximize performance.

This helmet is the result of more than two years of research, developed in collaboration with the UCI WorldTour Team Bahrain Victorious and validated through aerodynamic testing by the Swiss Side team.

The Astral Sphere and Turbolence eyewear feature spherical lens technology, providing an expansive, distortion-free field of view, aerodynamic efficiency, and ventilation during high-intensity sports activities.

Gregory Barnaby will kick-off his new season on Sunday, April 6 at the Singapore T100 – a race expected to deliver thrilling moments. Among the competitors are T100 World Champion Marten Van Riel, Olympic Champion Hayden Wilde, and 2024 winner Youri Keulen, all set to compete in what promises to be an epic and adrenaline-charged event.

Barnaby will also compete in other events on the T100 Triathlon World Tour, solidifying his position among the world’s top triathletes.

“I chose Rudy Project because it represents the pinnacle of technical innovation in sports. Their aerodynamic products are among the best in the world, built from an in-depth understanding of triathlon and decades of experience in the field,” commented Barnaby. “But what impressed me most is the almost familial approach: a service that’s attentive and meticulous, making every athlete feel like an integral part of the project.”

“We are always looking for athletes who embody the spirit of pushing beyond their limits. Gregory Barnaby is the perfect example of this philosophy: he represents determination, precision, and ambition. We are proud that he has chosen our helmets and eyewear for his biggest challenges. Our products are designed to support exactly this type of athlete: those who never settle and aim for excellence, race after race,” said Simone Barbazza, Rudy Project’s Marketing Director.

This collaboration adds to Rudy Project’s recent partnership with the Italian Cycling Federation, its long-standing collaboration with WorldTour team Bahrain Victorious, and agreements with cross-country ski giants Johannes Klæbo and Federico Pellegrino, the American Magic sailing team, and leading national speed skating teams – including the Italian team for over 20 years.

In addition to Gregory Barnaby, Rudy Project is also the choice of triathletes Kieran Lindars, Justus Nieschlag, Bradley Weiss, Nikki Bartlett, Tom Bishop, Csongor Lehmann, Shannon Kelly, Nicole van der Kaay, and Barbara de Koning.

No fewer than 42 Olympic medalists at the last Beijing Winter Games competed using Rudy Project gear – along with Klæbo’s six gold medals and Pellegrino’s silver at the 2024 Cross-Country Ski World Championships in Trondheim.
