Oxford welcomes Kian Emadi-Coffin to their team

Former professional road cyclist Kian Emadi-Coffin has joined Oxford’s IBD support team.

Kian has represented Great Britain and England at international level and is a three-time British National Track champion.

Born and raised in Stoke-on-Trent, he started cycling competitively at the age of 13, and raced in many disciplines (track, road and cyclo-cross), before concentrating on the sprint disciplines of track racing. Kian moved to Manchester at the age of 18 as a member of the British Cycling Podium Programme.

He represented Great Britain at the 2013 UCI Track Cycling World Championships and England at the 2014 Commonwealth Games. He won his first senior medal, a silver in the team sprint, at the latter event.

After suffering a back injury in September 2014, which limited the amount of gym work he could do to attempt to secure a place in the British team sprint squad for the 2016 Summer Olympics, Emadi-Coffin switched to the endurance squad. He has since medalled 7 times for his country (European and World Championships, plus the Commonwealth Games), the most recent being a bronze in the team pursuit at the UCI World Championship in 2021.

This will be Kian’s first ‘regular’ job, having only recently retired from a long career in professional cycling, and it will provide him with an opportunity to exercise his commercial brain (using his maths degree!) whilst sharing his passion for and giving something back to the industry which has supported him for so many years.

Oxford’s Sales Manager Vincenzo Iannidinardi is excited about what Kian can bring to the role: “The discipline and work ethic required to hit the heights as a professional athlete will certainly be helpful in what is a demanding role. Kian is keen to work hard serving our retail partners, whilst remaining a powerful advocate for the industry. We look forward to giving him every support in his new career.”

If they need anything before his first physical visit, Kian’s customers can reach him on 07391 407183 or on email at Kian@oxprod.com
