Nikki Bartlett and Pierre Dupuy win Challenge Forte Village Sardinia

Britain’s Nikki Bartlett and France’s Pierre Dupuy claimed victory at Challenge Forte Village Sardinia, with the Frenchman completing a third win in a month.

According to official organiser Challenge Family, Dupuy led the men’s race from start to finish and crossed the line in 3:37:56. Belgium’s Joran Driesen followed in 3:39:47, with Germany’s Tom Hug third in 3:40:14.

Bartlett takes the women’s race

Bartlett secured the women’s title in 4:09:50 after overturning a deficit on the run. Germany’s Daniela Kleiser finished second in 4:11:33 and France’s Justine Guérard took third in 4:16:32.

The middle-distance course combined a 1.9km swim, 90km bike ride and 21km run through and around the Sardinian coastal resort.

Dupuy’s winning run continues

Dupuy established an early lead in the swim and strengthened his advantage on the bike before controlling the run. His Sardinia success followed victories at Gérardmer XL and Challenge Vieux Boucau.

For Bartlett, the result adds another British victory to the Challenge Family circuit and demonstrates the importance of the run leg in closely contested middle-distance racing.
