Professional Triathletes Organisation adds Vancouver to growing 2025 T100 calendar

The Vancouver T100 Triathlon will be a multisport festival including the top 20 professional female and top 20 professional male triathletes in the world

The Professional Triathletes Organisation (PTO) has confirmed that Vancouver will become the eighth stop on the 2025 T100 Triathlon World Tour.

The Vancouver T100 Triathlon will take place on 13-15 June at Jericho Beach Park and be one of the hero events from an extensive list of major sporting events being staged in the city by Destination Vancouver. It will be organised by the PTO with local support from Do North Events, who first worked with the PTO when the PTO Tour visited Edmonton back in summer 2022.

The Vancouver T100 Triathlon will be a multisport festival including the top 20 professional female and top 20 professional male triathletes in the world racing over the new 100km distance (2km swim, 80km bike, 18km run) as well as a amateur races, junior and youth categories, school multisport activities, an open-water swim and a 5 km fun run. The international event, which is free for spectators and which will have the professional T100 races broadcast globally, will also showcase a local vendor expo and VIP hosting.

“The T100 Vancouver Triathlon presents a new and exciting opportunity to showcase Vancouver’s premier natural beauty to a global audience, drive sport tourism and engage the local community through various programs and initiatives,” said Michelle Collens, Director, Tourism and Destination Events, City of Vancouver, Arts, Culture & Tourism.

Welcoming the news, PTO CEO Sam Renouf said: “It’s exciting to be able to share that the T100 Triathlon World Tour will be heading to Vancouver later this year as we look to grow the series. Canada is one of the sport’s global powerhouses and Vancouver an iconic Olympic city, so we’re delighted to be working with Destination Vancouver, the Mayor of Vancouver and the University of British Columbia to stage what will be a fantastic weekend of triathlon and multisport activities. The city offers an iconic backdrop and location and we look forward to announcing further details shortly.”

After the sell-out amateur events in London and then Dubai in 2024, places are expected to go quickly, but you can already sign up to register your interest and get a priority sales window at https://t100triathlon.com/vancouver/participate/

Canadian triathlon star Paula Findlay, who raced the 2024 T100 Triathlon World Tour and has already confirmed she’ll be competing in the series again in 2025, said: “This is big news for sport in Canada. I’m really excited that Vancouver is being added to the T100 Triathlon World Tour at a fantastic new venue. I absolutely love racing in Canada on home soil, which is the roots of where I started the sport as a young kid and gave me the support that has seen me race around the world. Competing against the best in the world as well as alongside all of the amateur athletes who can get involved in T100 weekends is the best way to grow the sport of Triathlon in Canada, and I can’t wait to see everyone there!”

2024 saw the PTO launch the new 7-leg USD T100 Triathlon World Tour, which featured the world’s top 20 female and top 20 male triathletes compete head-to-head in a series of iconic locations – including Singapore, San Francisco, London, Ibiza, Lake Las Vegas and then Dubai for November’s T100 Triathlon World Championship Final.

The PTO has so far announced eight T100 events for 2025, including: Singapore (5-6 April); San Francisco (31 May-1 June); Vancouver (13-15 June); London (9-10 August); Ibiza (September TBA); Lake Las Vegas (TBA); and Dubai on 15-16 November. For further details, visit: www.t100triathlon.com
