Middaugh and Patiès Win XTERRA Worlds 30 in New Mexico
Sullivan Middaugh and Alizée Patiès won the men’s and women’s XTERRA Full Distance World Championship titles in Ruidoso, New Mexico, on Saturday 10 October 2026, as the off-road triathlon series celebrated its 30th edition.
Middaugh takes first world title
Middaugh, from Vail, Colorado, secured his first Full Distance world crown in 2:06:50. It was a notable family occasion: his father Josiah finished sixth and his brother Porter seventh.
“It means everything. It’s how I grew up, watching my dad and going to races with him,” Middaugh said in comments supplied by XTERRA.
Patiès wins women’s race
France’s Alizée Patiès won the women’s title in 2:36:19, ahead of Italy’s Marta Menditto and Australia’s Maeve Kennedy.
Athletes representing 41 countries gathered for the championship in New Mexico. The results followed a week of activities marking the 30th anniversary of the XTERRA World Championship.
