Team Standert Brandenburg Development squad launched

Standert, the Berlin-based bike brand founded in 2012 designing and manufacturing high-performance Scandium alloy and steel bikes, has announced the latest development in its journey with the launch of Team Standert Brandenburg in Berlin on Wednesday, May 2.

Team Standert Brandenburg will focus on discovering and developing young talented riders as they progress through the senior ranks to U23/Elite level, with the aim of becoming UCI Continental registered by 2026. The 2028 Olympics is also a major target on the team’s planning schedule, with Team Standert Brandenburg riders aiming to represent Germany in Los Angeles.

Team Standert was established in 2015 with the vision of championing a new spirit and setting a new standard in German competitive cycling. The team has been a major influence in shaping the Standert brand into what it is today – building cool-looking, innovative bikes that win races.

The new team solidifies the partnership between Standert and LV Brandenburg – a serial production line of young German talent, with several of its riders on the national track squad aiming for Olympic medals. Brandenburg capped a successful 2023 as overall junior team champions in the cycling Bundesliga, a season-long series of nationwide races in Germany.

Standert Bicycles commented: “Standert Bicycles teamed up with the Brandenburg State Association to create a program that is not just fun, but also fills a real void and creates purpose. After setting up the successful program of the LV Brandenburg Juniors, the extremely talented offspring had to leave for other teams when moving up into the U23s. By merging the interests of Berlin and Brandenburg, we create a huge pool of talent that can find a home in Team Standert Brandenburg for their U23 and Elite racing careers without leaving their homes, families, schools, studies, friends, and jobs. Real life and racing life can go hand in hand, and that’s what we want to provide for the next generation.”

The 14-rider roster features a mix of youth and experience, with the likes of Jakob Geßner (KOM Deutschland Tour ’22) and Pierre-Pascal Keup (2nd on GC at Paris-Tours Espoirs ‘23) leading the line and guiding the younger lights.

The race-proven Kreissäge RS will be the team bike of choice. Stiffer, lighter and faster than ever. Made from Scandium aluminium, with a monocoque carbon fork and fully integrated cabling. Finished with Sram Red groupset, Ceramic Speed bearings and DT Swiss wheels, which can take up to 30mm tyres.

Maxe Faschina, Team Standert Brandenburg Manager, said: “By merging the style and spirit of Team Standert with the performance pedigree of Brandenburg’s cycling federation, we are creating a unique U23/Elite team.”

Team Standert Brandenburg is proudly supported by MAAP, DT Swiss, fizik, Ceramic Speed, POC, Maurten, Wahoo, 100% and Red Bull.
