SunGod signs world leading triathlete Hayden Wilde
Leading British performance eyewear brand, SunGod, has announced a partnership with Hayden Wilde, the World Triathlon Championship Series No.1 triathlete.
The New Zealander has had a sterling year of races to date, including a silver medal at the Birmingham Commonwealth Games.
Wilde has been one of the top performers in the 2022 season so far, with seven wins and 17 podiums so far – including victory at the World Triathlon Championship Series held in Leeds and Hamburg – alongside a confident win at the Oceania Triathlon Cup in New Zealand.
Wilde was born in Taupō, growing up on the North Island Coast of New Zealand in Whakatāne. A gifted mountain biker, he became a two-time XTERRA U19 and World U23 Cross Triathlon World Champion, before making the change to full triathlon to chase his dream of competing at an Olympic Games. He realised this dream at the 2020 Olympic Games, in which he secured a bronze medal.
“In a sport that can be won and lost on the finest of margins, performance is everything and this includes the gear. SunGod eyewear is the best out there for running and on the bike, so I’m delighted to join their team alongside some incredible athletes.” Wilde said.
Wilde has spent much of the season performing in the SunGod Ultras™ while on the bike and run and celebrating off the track in the SunGod Sierras™. He joins an ever-growing roster of athletes on Team SunGod, including elite ultra-runners Tom Evans and Courtney Dauwalter.
