PTO and Visit Qatar unveil Lusail Venue to host 2025 Qatar T100 Triathlon World Championship Final
GCC festival of sport to inspire residents and visitors alike
The Professional Triathletes Organisation (PTO), World Triathlon, Visit Qatar and the Qatar Cycling and Triathlon Federation have unveiled the Lusail venue that will decide the 2025 Qatar T100 World Championship Final, taking place from December 10-13, 2025.
Qatar’s vibrant waterfront city will be the backdrop to this international event, starting with a 2km swim in the Arabian Gulf, an 80km bike through Lusail’s iconic streets, and an 18km run through Lusail Plaza and Boulevard.
The weekend marks the culmination of the second T100 Triathlon World Tour season, where the world’s top male and female triathletes will battle for the coveted World Championship title. Set against Lusail’s stunning skyline and modern marina, the event not only promises elite-level competition but also a global showcase of Qatar, highlighting iconic landmarks such as Lusail Stadium (pictured above), site of the 2022 FIFA World Cup Final and now a community hub, alongside Lusail’s striking waterfront, cultural centres, and dynamic sporting venues.
“The Qatar T100 Triathlon World Championship Final is the pinnacle of our T100 season – the race where the entire year of hard work, dedication, and strategic planning comes down to a single, decisive weekend,” said Sam Renouf, CEO of the PTO, who organise the T100. “It’s not just about crowning the world champions; it’s about celebrating the sport of triathlon on the world stage – as we saw in Saint Raphael and Frejus this weekend at the French Riviera T100 and World Triathlon Championship Series (WTCS) races – bringing together the best professional athletes, thousands of amateur participants, and fans from across the globe. This Lusail venue provides the perfect backdrop for this, with its vibrant waterfront, striking architecture, and energy that truly captures the excitement of a world-class multisport festival. We’re thrilled to be bringing the finale of our season here and can’t wait to see athletes of all levels take part in this extraordinary event.”
The Dubai T100 Triathlon, taking place November 13-16, serves as the penultimate stop on the T100 Race to Qatar, ensuring the eyes of the sporting world are firmly fixed on the Gulf before the season reaches its dramatic conclusion in Lusail.
The event weekend in Lusail will combine professional racing with opportunities for amateur athletes of all abilities. Participants can take part in the inaugural T100 Age Group World Championships, the 100km open-entry race, or the sprint-distance triathlon. A mass 5k/1km fun run on Wednesday, December 10, will encourage residents and visitors to get active and join the festival.
Event highlights:
- Wednesday, Dec 10: Mass 5k/1km fun run for the local community and visiting athletes
- Thursday, Dec 11: Event and fan village opens with dining, entertainment, and expo across Lusail Plaza
- Friday, Dec 12: Season-long T100 Race To Qatar series concludes with T100 Professional Races, awarding the 2025 World Championship title

The T100 Triathlon World Tour spans nine races globally, beginning in Singapore in April and culminating in Qatar in December. The Qatar final carries increased points, meaning performances here will have a decisive impact on the men’s and women’s world championship standings.
At the 2024 Dubai T100 Triathlon World Championship Final, almost 10,000 amateur athletes participated across sprint, 100km, and 5km events, highlighting the festival’s broad appeal to both pros and community participants. This year, past champions such as Taylor Knibb and Marten Van Riel, Olympic and World Championship winners, will headline the elite field, joined by top athletes from 13 countries.
With global broadcast coverage across 195+ territories, the Qatar T100 Triathlon World Championship Final is a platform for triathlon fans worldwide while inspiring local residents to embrace sport and active lifestyles. From first-time participants to seasoned professionals, Lusail’s T100 festival offers something for everyone.
