World Triathlon rebuilds online hub around racing, rankings and athlete profiles

World Triathlon has launched a new homepage as part of a wider rebuild of its website, bringing race information, results and editorial coverage together with resources for athletes, coaches and national federations.

According to the launch announcement, the homepage follows work on rankings, athlete profiles, news and federation pages. Dedicated age-group and development sections sit alongside the elite racing coverage.

The governing body says the redesign prioritises mobile use. It also plans to introduce AI-supported tools over the coming season; those planned additions should be distinguished from the features already available.

Making sense of the standings

The Championship Series rankings page provides separate men’s and women’s leaderboards, points totals, the gap to the leader and links to the complete standings.

It also explains the scoring framework. The published guidance distinguishes points from the Championship Finals, Series races and Continental Championships, and explains that a season total combines the Finals with a specified number of an athlete’s best Series results.

That context is useful when reading a ranking: a position is the outcome of the applicable scoring system, rather than simply a list of the athletes who raced most recently.

Following an athlete through the season

The live Bethany Cook profile, for example, brings together current ranking positions, career totals, upcoming competition information and recent results. Its results section identifies the event, competition category, distance and recorded time.

Those distinctions help readers avoid confusing an individual result with a relay leg, or a sprint race with a standard-distance event. They also give coaches and followers a straightforward route from a name in a report to the underlying racing record.

The Members directory offers a separate route to national federations, with searches by country, territory or name and filters covering different regions and membership types.

Useful information in one place

For clubs and event followers, the practical value is easier checking: find the event, confirm the category, review the result and then read the wider story. As with any live sports service, start lists and standings should be checked again when they inform a time-sensitive decision.
